What is a deposit?

When chartering a yacht, you should pay a deposit before shipping. The deposit is a protection in case damages that can happen at a yacht have to be covered. Usually, it is € 1000 to 2500 and it should be paid by cash or secured by a credit card.

The deposit is insurable. For an additional payment, the deposit can be cancelled or significantly reduced. Despite the additional insurance cost of € 150–300, we don't have to pay a high deposit and we sail in peace not worrying about losing it.
